Pinecrest homes sit on some of the biggest residential lots in Miami-Dade, and big lots mean long runs: to a pool equipment pad, a detached garage, landscape lighting at the far end of the yard, or a gate.

A lot of the work we do here is bringing an older house up to what the family now asks of it. That usually means a bigger service, new circuits outside, and a generator hookup so a storm doesn't take the house offline.

Pinecrest is northeast of our shop, a short run up US-1 or SW 117th Avenue.

The houses in Pinecrest

Many Pinecrest homes are ranch houses from the 1950s and 1960s, often renovated and added onto more than once, sitting next to newer and much larger houses built on the same kind of lot. The older ones are where we find undersized services, crowded panels and additions wired off whatever circuit was closest.

What we keep an eye on here

Mature trees are part of what people love about Pinecrest, and they are also what brings the lines down in a storm. That makes generator inlets and transfer switches a common request. Long outdoor runs need proper conduit and depth so the landscaping crew doesn't find them.

Permits in Pinecrest

Pinecrest is an incorporated village with its own building department, so permits for work here go through the Village of Pinecrest, not the county. We pull them and schedule the village inspection.
