Palmetto Bay is one of our nearest service areas. Our shop is just west of it, and we get a lot of calls from homes between US-1 and Old Cutler Road.

The houses here are mostly single-family homes on generous lots, and many have pools and long yards. That shapes the work: pump circuits, outdoor lighting, panel upgrades for houses that have grown, and chargers in driveways.

Palmetto Bay is just east of our shop on SW 160th Street, close enough that we are often there the same day.

The houses in Palmetto Bay

Much of Palmetto Bay was built in the 1950s through the 1970s, with ranch homes on large lots and plenty of later additions and remodels. Those additions are where we most often find wiring that was tapped off an existing circuit instead of given its own.

What we keep an eye on here

Being this close to Biscayne Bay means salt air, and salt air rusts outdoor electrical equipment faster than people expect. Meter cans, outdoor panels, disconnects and exterior boxes are worth checking every few years. Pool and irrigation pump circuits also take a beating out here.

Permits in Palmetto Bay

Palmetto Bay is an incorporated village with its own building department, so permits go through the village. We file them and meet the inspector.

What Palmetto Bay calls us for most

  • Panel upgrades and replacements. New breaker panels, 100 to 200 amp service changes, and the permit, inspection and utility coordination that come with them.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs. Dead outlets, burnt wiring, tripping breakers, pump circuits and anything else that stopped working. Diagnosed properly, often the same day.
  • Recessed, outdoor and fixture lighting. Recessed lights, new fixtures, ceiling fans, flood lights and outdoor lighting, installed with as little drywall damage as possible.

Around Palmetto Bay

We work around Old Cutler Road, US-1, Deering Estate, SW 152nd Street and Coral Reef Drive, and in Pinecrest and Cutler Bay and Kendall next door.
